Please be aware that so called “Courier Fraud ” has resurfaced in Leicestershire generally.
Thankfully we have had no offences reported in the Ashby area at this time.
Th scam involves people being contacted by criminals posing as Police Officers claiming that their bank account has been the subject of Fraudulent Activity.
They then arrange for your credit card to be picked up by a fake Courier as well as trying to persuade the victim to transfer cash from their accounts under the pretence of investigating the fraud.
Normally these offences are targeted at the elderly and vulnerable in our community.
We would encourage you to speak to one another to make sure that no one falls victim to such a crime.
Please speak to anyone you know who is elderly and vulnerable to ensure that they are aware too.
