Grants
The Parish Council is able to give grants from the precept for certain things.
Packington Parish Council welcomes grant applications that will promote a vibrant and active local community.
The Council recognises and supports the valuable contribution made by many volunteer groups and organisations in the fields of sport, art, culture, services for young people, elderly people and people with disabilities and the many others who contribute to the well-being of our community.
The intention is to improve the range of local services and activities and for grant funding to have a positive effect on the community of Packington.
Objectives that may meet the criteria for a grant include:
- Providing a service
- Enhancing quality of life
- Improving the environment
- Promoting the parish in a positive way
Grants will not be given to individuals. The Parish Council will not award grants to commercial organisations, purposes for which there is a statutory duty upon other local or central government departments to fund or provide, political parties, religious organisations.
The Local Government Act 1972, s137 empowers a local council to spend up to a prescribed amount in any one year for the direct benefit of their area or any part of it or all or some of its inhabitants.

Solar Farm Community Grants
The Parish Council administers a Community Benefit Fund which receives income from 2 solar farms in the Parish – the Park Farm Solar Farm and the Ashby Solar Farm.
Grants are available to groups in the Parish and guidance notes and an application form can be found on the link below.
