We understand that the recent news regarding the cancellation of this year’s Packington Bonfire has led to significant speculation and discussion across local forums and social media.
We want to assure the community that this was an extremely difficult decision made by the organisers due to valid, unavoidable reasons, with the primary concern being the safety and smooth running of the event. Despite our best efforts, logistical and capacity challenges, and the increasing complexity of ensuring public safety, meant that delivering the bonfire to our usual high standard was not possible this year.
Please be certain that this is not the end of this cherished village tradition. We are committed to taking the necessary time over the coming months to review all aspects of the event. Our goal is to bring the Packington Bonfire back next year in a revised format that is safe, sustainable, and better than ever.
