Packington Community Award – Village Champion
This year saw the launch of the new annual Packington Community Award and the winner was announced at the Annual Parish Meeting on the 7th May.
There are so many people – individuals, groups and societies – in Packington who work hard to make the village a better place to live.
At the Annual Parish Meeting, Anne Wathes was announced as the winner of the award. Chris Miles presented awards to finalists Martin and Louise and overall winner Anne, praising their dedication and pronouncing them ‘stars of the village’ who really make a difference.

Martin and Louise are familiar sight as they litter pick throughout the village and beyond. As Chris said, there’s no need for a litter picking team any more and the village is pristine.
Anne has worked very hard to meet needs within the community and every week is busy baking, organising and helping to run social gatherings; doing sterling work for the village, young and old.
All of them make a real difference to the village and we were delighted to present them with their awards.
